Under Florida Law a bicycle is considered a VEHICLE and therefore has the same rights and privileges as any other vehicle except by its very nature does not apply. Bicycles and self-propelled vehicle shall not be operated on any limited access roadway. Bicyclist may be issued a traffic citation under any applicable traffic law. This includes violation of right of way, disobeying an official traffic control device, riding on the wrong side of the road and more. Pedestrians also must comply with Florida law and can be issued a ticket for disobeying a traffic device or disobeying any applicable pedestrian law.
