Cars come from the factory equipped with turn signals. They are not difficult to use. Under Florida Statute 316.155 sets forth the times when a turn signal is required. Any vehicle turning right or left or changing lanes a turn signal is required. The purpose of is to let other drivers know you are changing lanes or making a turn.
In the event turn signals are not working arms signals can be used. To signal a right turn the drivers left arm must be upward at a 90 degree angle and for a left turn the left arm must be straight out. To indicate a driver is slowing or stopping, the left arm should be pointed in a downward manner.
